＜p＞The summer of 1997 has come to an end and 18-year-old Azalea Starr is heading off to college. During the long drive, she reflects on the past year and a half, in which she came to know Kendrick Brooks, the enigmatic music teacher at her private high school. She retraces the story of their relationship, beginning with their first conversations during a French exchange trip to Paris. Mr. Brooks opens up a world of passionate creativity that draws Azalea in, but soon she finds herself consumed by thoughts of this older, married teacher.
